The aluminum plate is a rectangular plate formed by rolling aluminum ingots. The thickness of the aluminum plate is generally more than 0.2mm to less than 500mm, the width is generally more than 200mm, and the length is less than 16m. Common aluminum plates include: pure aluminum plate, alloy aluminum plate, thin aluminum plate, medium and thick aluminum plate, patterned aluminum plate, color-coated aluminum plate, etc.
Classification of aluminum plates:
1. According to series:
1000 series: Contains more than 99.00% aluminum, which is the series with the most aluminum content among all series. Can not be strengthened by heat treatment, good electrical conductivity, good welding performance, low strength. Application: Mainly used in scientific experiments, chemical industry and other special purposes.
2000 series: It is an aluminum-copper alloy. In addition to copper and aluminum, manganese, magnesium, lead and bismuth are also added. Good machinability. Applications: aviation industry (2014 alloy), screws (2011 alloy), industries with high temperature (2017 alloy), etc.
3000 series: Manganese is the main component, and the content is between 1.0-1.5%. The 3000 series aluminum sheet has better antirust performance, so it can also be called antirust aluminum sheet. Application: in humid environments such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and undercars.
4000 series: This series of aluminum plates has a high silicon content, usually between 4.5-6.0%, and has good corrosion resistance, heat resistance and wear resistance. Commonly used as building materials, mechanical parts, forging materials, welding materials.
5000 series: It belongs to the more commonly used aluminum alloy plate series. It can also be called aluminum-magnesium alloy. The magnesium content is between 3-5%. Low density, high tensile strength, high elongation. Application: Aviation, such as: aircraft, general industry.
6000 series: It mainly contains magnesium and silicon, so it combines the advantages of 4000 series and 5000 series.
7000 series: Mainly contains zinc element. It is an aluminum-magnesium-zinc-copper alloy and a heat treatable alloy. Belonging to superhard aluminum alloy, it has good wear resistance. Widely used in aviation.
